It’s a shiny happy day in August 2013. I’m revamping my site with a new look and a major reshuffling of content, because that’s pretty much what’s happened in my life since I set up this personal space on the web. For those who came in late, settle down and let me tell you about my exciting ride to, well, here.
In 2008, I applied for a job at a small advertising firm where a senior of mine from college worked — she’d been really helpful advising me on how to get started with my career, and I was excited about joining a team where I’d have to contribute in multiple capacities. I still remember answering the staid old where-do-you-see-yourself-in-five-years question: “I’m not exactly sure, but I do know that I want to write, shoot pictures, design, and do everything in between — and get paid for it.”
Fast-forward to the present: It’s 2013, and I’m fortunate enough to be able to do just that: I have the pleasure to work with a brand new men’s magazine as an editor; I shoot bands on set and on stage for folks like NH7 and Rolling Stone, and I’m privileged to be published by the likes of The Next Web, Lifehacker India, Gizmodo India, Android AppStorm, Web AppStorm, Stemmings and AndroidShock. Things have moved so quickly that I haven’t really had time to reflect on it all, but I can tell you that it’s been quite the adventure.
I couldn’t be happier with how things are going at the moment — but I do intend to relocate abroad in a few years, and indulge my Japanophilia often while I’m at it. I also hope to write and shoot more, outside of my commissioned work. If you’re reading this, hold me to my promise of more posts to come, and don’t let go till you’ve seen some quality writing on this-here blog. Have a smashing weekend!
